It is the oldest church in the city and was built in the Gothic style between the XIV and XVI centuries on the remains of the mosque that was built during the Moorish reign.
The castle is divided into three different buildings: "La Torreta" is where the old Torre del Homenaje is located and has the oldest remains of the entire castle, with some foundations from the XI and XIII centuries. The middle building houses the most important rooms, completed in 1580. The lower building dates from the 18th century.
With a moderate exterior, the cathedral was built between 1616 and 1662, but the cloister dates back to the 15th century. It was built on the remains of a Renaissance mosque.
