Today it is a dynamic city with many places of interest: museums, the new port district… Its province has wonderful beaches from Nerja to Manilva and inland you will find some very well-known villages like Ronda.

The Cathedral de la Encarnacion was built on the old foundations of the Aljama Mosque, the city's main mosque during the eight centuries of Moorish rule.
