Sun-drenched on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.

It is rich in traditional history and cultural heritage. It is a small city, convenient and pleasant to explore. It is another one of Spain’s World Heritage sites.

Main programme activities in Tarragona: Port Aventura, Ebro Delta and Craft Workshops

Activities we highlight

Port Aventura Theme Park

This is the name of the theme park. It has six different themes: Mediterranean, Polynesian, China, Mexico, Far West and SesamoAventura.

Delta del Ebro

The mouth of the Ebro River is in the province of Tarragona, and it is there that you can enjoy an excursion that will allow you to discover this wonderful natural park, where you can hike and enjoy some of the sights for which the area is best known.

Handicraft Workshops

We think that workshops are a perfect way to share culture with the students. They are entertaining and engaging. In Tarragona we have Roman cookery workshops in the ancient city of Tarraco, as well as workshops on Catalonia's characteristic mosaics.

Roman Amphitheater

The Amphitheater of Tarraco is a Roman construction near the sea and inside the walls of the city of Tarraco. It is the capital of the Roman province Hispania Citerior Tarraconenesis. The amphitheater was built towards the end of the 2nd century A.D.

Barcelona

Barcelona has been the stage for several world events that have shaped the city and given it an international impact. Today, Barcelona is known as a global city due to its cultural, financial, commercial and touristic importance.

Casa Castellarnau

One of the most symbolic buildings in Tarragona is Casa Castellarnau. It is an ancient house dating back to the XIV century that was acquired, along with two adjacent houses, by a powerful bourgeois family. In 1542, King Carlos I resided in this house during his stay in Tarragona.

Cathedral

The Cathedral of Santa Maria was built in an early Gothic style. It is located in the highest part of Tarragona, on the site of a temple dedicated to the Roman Empire of Augustus, a Visigoth cathedral and a Moorish mosque.

Roman Circus

Its construction was politically promoted by the Concilium provincae Hispaniae citerioris, whose representatives met annually in the province of Citerior. It is also located near the Provincial Forum of Tarraco within the walled area on the lower terrace of the Upper Part of Tarraco. It was built towards the end of the 1st Century A.D.

Spanish Course

The school has a modern space with different classrooms suitable for school groups.

Flamenco Show

The show is performed in a typical setting and lasts about one hour.

Wall

A military boundary dating back to the Roman era that surrounds the historic center of the city. The construction is the most ancient of Roman Tarraco.

National Archaeological Museum

The current Museu Nacional Arqueologic de Tarragona was built in the mid 19th century. In other words, it is Catalonia´s oldest archaeological museum. The museum's collections show that it has a Roman vocation.

Beaches

Tarragona is surrounded by beautiful beaches for having a stroll or taking a dip.
