Study Abroad Spring Semester Universidad de Granada, Spain

If you’re wondering how the Spring semester works—or, as our American students call it, the Spring Semester—studying in Spain, here’s some useful information
During the Spring semester, students can take courses in Spanish language and culture primarily at the University of Granada, although we also offer the possibility of studying in Seville, Madrid, or Barcelona. These courses cover literature, art, grammar, and history, and are divided into nine different levels of Spanish. Students also have the option to take intensive Spanish language courses at the university, where their learning is almost exclusively focused on the language. Naturally, students with a more basic level usually take these intensive courses, while those with a higher level can choose either to perfect their Spanish or to explore other subjects offered in the Spanish language and culture program mentioned above.
Our international students can study in Spain during the Spring semester (January to May), the Fall semester (September to December), or during the summer for two months—June and July
Once an international student has completed their Spanish course in Granada, they receive an official certificate or diploma issued by this Spanish public university. This certificate shows the credits earned in Spain, which the student can then transfer to their home university. In addition, during this approximately four-month period, students participate in sports activities, cultural visits, and excursions to other Andalusian cities, such as Seville, Córdoba, Málaga, Úbeda and Baeza, Ronda, and more.
It’s worth noting that international students live with host families in the city they choose. These families provide not only accommodation and full board, but also a Spanish-speaking environment to improve their language skills, support with daily life, and, in short, become their family in Spain. Most students maintain contact with their host families even after returning home, and some even visit them again.
Additionally, students have the option to volunteer with an NGO or do internships in educational centers or companies across different sectors.
In short, this is a unique experience that they will always remember!
