Main programme activities in Cáceres: Spanish, Merida and Trujillo

Activities we highlight

Spanish Course

The school has modern facilities with classrooms suitable for school groups.

Merida

Merida was one of the most important cities in the Roman era and to this day it has preserved the majority of its most important monuments.

Trujillo

This city is a very good representation of the Spanish medieval remains and it preserves numerous monuments from this period.

Jewish Districts

Caceres has two Jewish neighborhoods - the old Jewish quarter, located in the southeastern part of the walled zone, and the new Jewish district, located next to the Plaza Mayor and Plaza del Mercado.

Becerra's House

Magnificent house from the late 15th and early 16th centuries. It has all the typical façade elements of Cacerian mansions such as the main entrance in the form of an arch made with large keystones, and shields on narrow arches. This all conceals just how spacious the house is.

Mudejar House

The Museum of Caceres houses the archaeological heritage of the city and works of contemporary art by artists such as Picasso and Miró.

Center of Visual Arts

It is a center for research, promotion and education in the field of contemporary visual arts.

Flamenco Show

The show is performed in a typical setting and lasts approximately one hour.

Santa Maria Co-Cathedral Church

It is the main church of the city and was built over another building between the 15th and 16th centuries. The façades are in Gothic style. On the evangelical façade there is a pillar with a corbel holding the Virgin. The tower has three parts. The central part has a medallion with a vase full of lilies, symbol of the Virgin. The interior of the church has a rectangular shape with three naves, pointed arches and crossed domes. Its altarpiece by Roque Balduque y Guillen Ferrant is from the 16th century, made of cedar and pine without any polychrome paint and dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin. Very famous is the chapel of Carvajal, which has a baroque altarpiece with the Archangel Saint Miguel from the 17th century and the Black Christ from the 15th century.

Caceres Museum

The Museum of Caceres houses the archaeological heritage of the city and works of contemporary art by artists such as Picasso and Miró.

Carvajal Palace

Its façade has the typical structure of the Cacerian palace style, with a balcony at the corner, a large sized front shield and a door with a central arch and radiating keystones. Its garden, where there is a fig tree, is a clear example of the interior green areas that can be found in buildings in the monumental zone.

Bujaco Tower

This is one of the symbols of Caceres. It is a 25 meters high walled tower that was built to protect the walls and the city of Caceres. It was built around the 17th century with crenellations and gradually other elements such as the Renaissance balcony were added. The tower is connected to the wall by a bridge that was used by the sentries.

Tour of a factory, company, etc.

We organize trips to institutions, factories, companies or other relevant places for groups, in relation to their education and knowledge of these places in Spain.

Visit to a Cattle Farm

School groups visit a livestock farm to get an impression of the countryside: here they learn about the agricultural economy, plants, animals, etc.

Visit to the Royal Monastery of Santa Maria de Guadalupe

The Monastery of Guadalupe is located in Guadalupe, Caceres. It is a World Heritage Site and houses a carved effigy of the Virgin of Guadalupe.
