

The port city of Santander has a population of about 180,000 people and is one of the capitals of Cantabria. Its origins date back to the Roman era.
During the reign of Alfonso XIII, Santander became the summer residence of the Court.
Today, it remains an important academic and tourist city in northern Spain.

Famous for its cave paintings featuring drawings and polychrome rock paintings of wild mammals and human hands, created between 18,500 and 14,000 years ago during the Upper Paleolithic by early humans. We organize tours and workshops on prehistory.
Its structure is mainly Gothic, but it has undergone extensions and renovations since then. It is a historical and monumental complex built between the late twelfth and fourteenth centuries on the site of the old monastery.

Most of the 1,200 objects on display in this museum date from the period between the Upper Paleolithic and the Iron Age. There are also items from the Roman era, mostly from Julióbriga and Castro Urdiales, the ancient Flavióbriga. Of note in the medieval collection is the ivory belt buckle from the Santa Maria de Hito archaeological site.
A museum dedicated to the dissemination of maritime heritage. Its collections are one of the most important and complete in the country, allowing a comprehensive approach to marine biodiversity and the different ways in which Cantabrian people of the sea have connected with it over the centuries.

This is not a conventional zoo or a natural park. It is a space naturalized from the primitive beauty of the karst landscape on the 750 hectares of a former open-cast mine.
It has an area of 24.5 hectares. It was a gift from the city of Santander to King Alfonso XIII, who used it as a summer residence between 1912 and 1929. Today the peninsula is a public park open during the day. There you will find the Magdalena Palace, Magdalena Beach and Bikini Beach, three caravels and a small free zoo with ducks, penguins and seals.
This small town is one of the most important tourist attractions in the region, since it is home to the Altamira Cave, considered the "Sistine Chapel of Quaternary Art", and a well-preserved historic quarter, where the 12th-century Collegiate Church of Santillana del Mar is located.
